In 97% mint sharp original condition, we have a scarce and seldom seen 1921 French Police/Gendarmerie Contract Mauser C96 Broomhandle Pistol in the standard 7.63 Mauser caliber. These Pistols are identified by two main features specific to this order, a short Bolo length barrel and full size hard rubber grips, which is unlike the standard version of the Bolo Pistol which had a smaller sized grip. This pistol is all matching and has a mint bore, it is not import marked and was likely a WWII vet bringback.
Although almost all of these pistols went to France it is also thought that there was a small contract overrun of the pistols and these were likely disposed of on the Chinese Market or possibly even to the Bolsheviks. Certainly one of the main variants of the Broomhandle to collect.
