In 98% very sharp beautiful condition,100% factory original and with a mint bore, we have a Colt Model 1911 US Army Service Pistol that was shipped on July 21, 1914 to the Commanding officer of the Benicia Arsenal in California, very likely for units stationed in the area. This is an exceptional top condition example, much nicer than you ever see early military Colt 1911’s as they saw considerable use. This pistol is totally factory original and 100% factory correct and the bore is mint as well. This pistol is one of the nicest early Colts that we have seen in a long time, Pistols like this were used on the 1916 Punitive Expedition in Mexico against Pancho Villa and of course in both world wars. Finding an early Colt 1911 this sharp and original is a real challenge, the few examples that exist are squirreled away in collections and are seldom offered for sale.
