In mint all matching condition, we have an extremely scarce very late war, 1945 production Gustloff Werke manufactured bcd 45 coded K98k Service Rifle. This code, bcd 45 is extremely tough to locate it is estimated that less than 20,000 were marked in this manner, many of the final production rifles made at this plant were coded bcd 4 even into the 1945 production run. For this reason, bcd 45 coded rifles do not show up very often. In fact we checked our past sales and this is the only bcd 45 coded rifle that we have handled in 30 years! This rifle is all matching and is a textbook example. The stock has the eagle/H cartouche and the “c” subcontractor marking of Dresdner Tischfabrik Herbert Menzel. The phosphate finish is to thin that the metal looks to be in the white, which is a known feature on some of the final production. If you are a serious 98k collector this is a very hard to find code and you should not pass up the chance to get this very interesting rifle.
