In 94% original condition, we have the scarcest variant late 1916 production (1,564) of the very scarce Springfield Armory M1911 Service Pistol. This is a 100% factory original completely orthodox textbook example, to include the incredibly rare and never ever seen Springfield Armory made Loopless Magazine, only used on these late production pistols. All small parts are correctly marked with the “s“ as they are supposed to be. This pistol was produced in the final months of 1916 probably in the fall of that year. The bore is decent. Springfield Armory made exactly 25,767 pistols and fewer than 2,000 of this late variant were produced. This is an extremely rare and highly sought after example of the US Army service pistol as made at the Armory. The magazine is so rare that there are collectors that would buy it just to get an example of that feature.
