In very good partially restored condition we have an early December, 1940 production Springfield Armory M1 Garand Rifle. This is not a lend lease or import marked rifle which makes it incredibly rare. The parts are all period correct, however the op rod does have the post WWII relief cut. The stock has been refinished a bit and we would consider this to be a correct rifle with some attempt at cleanup.
Early Pre-Pearl Harbor production Garands are scarce and almost all of the nice ones are Lend Lease British proofed rifles that returned to America. We sold mint untouched 1940 Garands for over $9,000 dollars so this does represent a good buy.
