In 96%+”A” & 97%”B” sharp condition, we have an absolutely fantastic and as far as we know Unique CONSECUTIVELY NUMBERED PAIR of  very attractive and very elusive Union Switch & Signal made US WW2 1911A1 Pistols.  These pistols are very significant because they are nearly identical in construction and in there wear from usage.  They certainly were shipped together and used by the same unit and they probably came home together as well.   Realistically, US&S pistols are the most sought after 1911 Pistol by collectors and are the one rare 1911 that is obtainable by any serious collector. Because of the du-lite finish, they have a very distinctive bluish look.   These pistols were made in Swissvale, PA which is a suburb of Pittsburgh and they made the smallest number of pistols of the main 4 WW2 contractors at only around 55,000.  This is minuscule compared to the other contractors, even Ithaca made 400,000. Finding one this mint and all original is a pretty big deal!

These pistols are very fine examples of early middle production and were produced in June, 1943. they are the “Lazy P” proof variation. as you know they are refereed to that way because the ‘P” on the top of the slide sort of lays sideways on the slide.    These pistols are 100% factory original with mint bores as well.   You will also notice the very distinctive milling on the barrel bushings that you only see on US&S production.

Union Switch and Signal made Pistols are avidly collected and finding an original condition example is an extremely important event to any serious collector.  As far as we are aware and we have certainly made inquiries this may be the only consecutively numbered pair of nearly identical examples ever put on offer.  The importance of these pistols to the advanced collector of US Martial Arms cannot be understated and there acquisition will be a major coupe.
