News from the Office, Brett and I went to the MAX Show which was held for the first time at it’s new location, York Pennsylvania. As you may know if you ever attended it was for many years held in Pittsburgh, which is a nice city to visit. Last week I has mused that they might as well have held it in an Amish barn instead of York and if you smelled the place that is exactly what it was; it smelled of cow manure….LITERALLY! 🐮💩! It was like a surreal mash up of Amish Rumspringa and the Nuremberg Rallies. The Europeans and other Foreign citizens could not attend because of COVID travel restrictions so there were some empty tables, plus I think a lot of the older collectors were a still a bit reluctant to attend as well, but a lot of folks did set up.
Under the circumstances we are now living under I think the show was ok, we did manage to pull about 20 guns and a pile of holsters out of there after we scoured the place. As is typical of a MAX show nice guns are just not seen in the quantity that you see at the Show of Shows. After we got back Brett & I felt that we did slightly better than we had anticipated.
I think that we should be very grateful and applaud the Ohio Valley Military Society for having this show. They really do a first rate job in managing an event like this. The location might not have been the best choice but like they said in the movie “if you build it they will come.”
Please make an appointment if you are stopping by the office. We are more than happy to pull something for you to look at if you have an interest; we just need to know in advance and don’t mind a visit.
