In 95% condition, we have a very scarce French WWI Military issued Savage Model 1907 Pistol in 7.65mm (.32 auto). From 1914-1917 The French Government purchased 27,500 of these fine 10 shot pistols to arm the French Army who were in desperate need for handguns for the close quarters fighting in the trenches. These are identified readily by the lanyard on the bottom of the grip and a loaded chamber indicator, both of these features are not found on the normal commercial production.
This example was from the initial 1915 shipment and is all matching with an excellent bore. Because of the 10 shot magazine and much superior quality these pistols were much more desirable to carry than the chunkier Ruby type Pistols which were obtained in Huge quantities for the French Army. These pistols are seldom seen today, a few came back as vet bring backs from WWI and a few more were imported here in 1963. Certainly one of the more desirable pistols of WWI, I would not let this hang around too long before you grab it; they sell very fast.
