In 98% very crisp condition, we have an extremely rare and important April 30, 1942, Nazi Contract delivered Astra 300 Pistol in .380 caliber. This is the very early 1st Type Variation, with the unusual very high grips, but is late enough to be waffenamted, most were not. Only the first initial shipments of less than 7000 pistols are found in this configuration, out of approximately 63,000 delivered to the German HeersWaffenamt Office, MAKING THIS THE MOST DESIRABLE NAZI ERA ASTRA 300 VARIANT. The pistol is all matching with an excellent bore and the fireblue still pops on the small parts.
The Astra 300 was an extremely rugged, accurate and well made pistol, and they were widely issued to the Luftwaffe. Today they are one of the most avidly sought after of the German used Foreign contract pistols. This very rare early production variant is extremely desirable to collectors and will not last very long on the site.
