Description

IN 98%  EXCELLENT CONDITION, WE HAVE A FINE EXAMPLE OF A COLT MODEL 1908 POCKET HAMMERLESS PISTOL IN .380 AUTO.  THIS EXAMPLE WAS PRODUCED IN 1920 AT THE BEGINNING OF THE ROARING 20’S PROHIBITION ERA.   WE GET MORE REQUESTS FOR THIS PISTOL THAN ALMOST ANY OTHER HANDGUN.  THEY ARE MUCH MORE POPULAR THAN THE MODEL 1903 .32’S AMONG COLLECTORS.  THIS EXAMPLE IS ALL MATCHING WITH A MINT BORE EXACTLY AS IT LEFT THE FACTORY IN HARTFORD.

THE COLT POCKET HAMMERLESS WAS THE PISTOL THAT GANGSTERS SUCH AS JOHN DILLINGER  STUFFED IN THEIR COAT POCKETS AND THESE SMOOTH LOOKING  COLTS COULD BE  SEEN IN MANY OF THE MOTION PICTURES OF THE 1930’S AND 40’S.  THE ROMANTIC APPEAL OF THIS PISTOL IS VERY STRONG, IT IS A VERY RECOGNIZABLE ICON OF THE THE PERIOD.
