Description

If you collect US WWII M1911A1 Service Pistols, especially those made by Ithaca then you know that this is THE UNICORN OF ITHACA’S.  In 98%+ mint crisp in the original Ithaca Shipping box condition, we have a very early production Ithaca MN1911a1 US Army Service Pistol that was part of the very first shipment from the factory on March 25, 1943 to the Augusta Arsenal.  This is one of the very earliest known Ithaca Pistols and it was made with a salvaged Colt M1911 frame that was re-machined by Ithaca to 1911a1 specs.  You will notice the Heart shaped cut-outs in the grip which you often hear about on these re-used Colt Frames.  Also this has a Springfield Armory made barrel and the very early Du-Lite sandblasted blue Finish as well.  This is a textbook and completely orthodox example of the very first Ithaca Pistols that were made.

Also please appreciate the rare and nearly impossible to find genuine Ithaca factory shipping box, notice how the top and bottom fit together which is only found on Ithaca boxes.  We have never before offered such a significant and stunning example of an Ithaca made M1911a1 and many collectors will jump at the chance to obtain it. Â
