SOLD PRE98 ANTIQUE, VERY FINE & CHOICE, 1891 WINCHESTER MODEL 1873 RIFLE, IN 44-40 CALIBER, THE MANKILLER, THE GUN THAT WON THE WEST!

In antique fine/very fine condition, we have a top example of an 1891 production Winchester Model 1873 lever action rifle with a 24-inch octagonal barrel in the most desirable caliber 44-40.  This is mechanically very tight, and the bore is excellent, with tons of blue remaining which you just rarely see.  The wood is very nice as well with a very nice-looking piece of walnut for the buttstock.  

If you are looking for a “Cowboy Rifle” to hang on the mantle this is absolutely the one you want; a Winchester 73 in the mankiller caliber of 44-40.  This is Literally the gun and caliber that WON THE WEST!  This is the iconic piece of Americana that killed more people good and bad and more varmints two and four legged than any other piece of artillery on the Frontier.  It can be your Huckleberry.
