In 98% mint crisp condition, all matching Including the grips, (which you rarely see matching on these) we have a 1944 production Smith & Wesson Victory Model Revolver in .38 special with the standard 4 inch barrel.  This is a mint crisp example that is with a Smith & Wesson Factory letter and the very rare & seldom seen 1943 Craighead, Denver Made half flap holster. 

The .38 Special 4 inch Victory Model as a wartime expedient variant of the Legendary Military & Police Model.  It was the standard side arm of the US Navy in WWII as most of the 1911a1 pistols went to the Army and Marines.  This is the classic US Naval Aviation side arm of WWII and it was the most widely issued handgun of the US Navy during that war.   US Navy Pilot George W. Bush 42 carried one and so did JFK on the PT109.  For that reason alone these are very popular with all firearms collectors.  This is a must have piece for any serious US WWII collection.
