Description

One of the finest examples known of the very rare 1865-1867 produced Miller breech loading conversion of the 1861 Springfield Rifle Musket.  Only 2000 of these were produced out of surplus Civil War Parker Snow & Co made 1861 pattern muskets.  They were altered to fire the .58 rimfire US musket round.  While this was a successful design, it was not produced in large numbers and was not commercially viable due to the glutted arms market of the immediate post civil war era. Many of these rifles went out west and today you will rarely see one in this top condition.
