In 95% condition, we have a very rarely encountered Simson Co, Suhl made Model 1922 vest pocket pistol in .25acp. This was an extremely low production item, and our gun has a 3-digit serial number. This is a particularly nice example because the grips are intact. Less than 2000 of these pistols are thought to have been made, which makes it one of the rarer of the tiny interwar made German Pistols. Unlike almost all the tiny pistols of this era this was not based upon the Browning Vest Pocket Pistol but was a completely novel design.
The desirability of this pistol is greatly enhanced by the fact that it was made by Simson, the Jewish owned firm that was expropriated by the Nazis in 1935. This is the only example that we have seen in 40 years so they are certainly quite rare, and this would be a great piece for any advanced collection.
