In 90% combat carried been there done that condition, we have a very interesting Colt 1918 “Black Army” Model of 1911 US Army Service Pistol, that has been arsenal overhauled no later than very early WWII. It has a mint Pre-WWII Springfield Armory replacement barrel. This is a great example of what the Army was scraping together at the outbreak of WWII and is very typical of the early overhauled pistols that saw action. These guns are not easy to locate in this condition because many were used up in the war and after that all the survivors got overhauled and parkerized.
This just walked into the office and was found in a long dead vet’s home. Just a Great US WWII era 1911 that you don’t have to pay an arm and a leg for.
