Description

THIS IS ONE OF THE RAREST FLARE GUNS OF THE 20TH CENTURY. THERE ARE A FEW KNOWN EXAMPLE IN EUROPE AND ONE IS IN THE IMPERIAL WAR MUSEUM. THIS IS A RUSSIAN 1870’S ERA BERDAN RIFLE THAT WAS CAPTURED BY THE AUSTRIANS AND CONVERTED TO A FLARE CARBINE BY THEM AND IT IS SO MARKED AND HAS A 1917 DATED MILITARY ACCEPTANCE PROOF. NOT A LOT IS KNOWN ABOUT THESE FLARE GUNS BUT THEY SEEM TO HAVE BEEN USED BY THE STORMTROOPERS AND THERE IS AT LEAST ONE PICTURE KNOWN SHOWING ITS USE BY THEM. I AM UNCERTAIN AS TO ITS USE WHETHER OR NOT IT SHOT JUST FLARES OR SOME OTHER TYPE OF PROJECTILE OR GRENADE AS WELL. THIS IS NOT A FIREARM AND IF IT WAS IT WOULD BE AN ANTIQUE SO NO LICENSE IS REQUIRED.
