Description
In antique excellent condition we have a real piece of local civil war History, a Type II Maynard Federal Cavalry carbine. This rifle was found many many years ago wrapped up in an old wool blanket in an old barn near Strasburg, VA. It is thought that is was hidden by a Confederate cavalryman returning from the war. The gun is in fine shape the bore is excellent but has been shot some, clearly the gun has seen some combat use but was stored away intact. The Maynard was considered to be the most accurate of the Civil War era cavalry carbines and was highly regarded on both sides of the conflict. This is a great Shenandoah Valley Civil War piece. Pre98 Antique as well.
