Description

IN 85% L CONDITION WHICH IS TYPICAL FOR THESE HARD USED RUSSIAN WW2 TOKAREVS, WE HAVE A VERY EARLY PRODUCTION 1938 DATED TULA MADE TT-33 PISTOL. THE BORE IS DECENT AND THE PISTOL IS ALL MATCHING INCLUDING THE MAGAZINE.   THIS IS ONE OF THE VERY FEW PISTOLS THAT WAS PRODUCED IN 1936 AS PROUDUCTION WAS NOT LARGE BEFORE THE START OF WW2. THIS PISTOLK WAS CAPTURED BY THE NAZIS, WHO “DE-COMMIEFIED” IT BY REMOVING THE CCCP AND STARS OFF OF THE GRIPS.  THIS IS ACTUALLY FAIRLY COMMON ON NAZI CAPTURED GUNS AND WE SEE IT OFTEN.  THIS IS A GREAT EXAMPLE OF A WW2 RUSSIAN TOKAREV THAT WAS CAPTRUED BY THE GERMANS AND THEN BROUGHT BACK AS A WAR TROPHY BY A GI.  EARLY DATED TOKAREVS ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO LOCATE.  FEW WERE MADE AND EVEN FEWER SURVIVED THE WAR.  THE FINISH LOSS ON THE SLIDE IS DUE TO A POOR BLUE JOB AT THE FACTORY NOT TO WEAR.
