Description

IN 98% ORIGINAL MINT CONDITION, WE HAVE A TOP EXAMPLE OF A LATE WAR PROUDCTION ITHACA 1911A1 PISTOL.  THIS PISTOL IS 100% CORRECT AS IT LEFT THE FACTORY AS PER CLAWSON.  THIS PISTOL WAS SHIPPED TO THE BELLE MEADE ARMY SERVICE DEOPOT IN NEW JERSEY ON JULY 25, 1945. JUST WEEKS BEFORE THE END OF THE WAR.    THIS IS A LATER VARIATION PISTOL WITH THE HARDENED SLIDE AND ELIMINATION OF THE RECOIL PLATE.   THERE HAS BEEN ALOT OF INTEREST OF LATE IN THE ITHACA MADE GUNS.  PEOPLE HAVE BECOME AWARE THAT THEY DID NOT MAKE NEARLY AS MANY AS COLT OR REM RAND DID.  WHILE NOT NEARLY AS SCARCE AS A UNION SWITCH THEY ARE NOT PARTICULARLY COMMON.  THIS IS A GREAT EXAMPLE OF THE LAST PRODUCTION THAT ITHACA DID.
