Description

IN 97% ORIGINAL UN-ALTERED CALIBER ALL MATCHING CONDITION WITH A MINT BORE, WE HAVE A WEBLEY MARK IV .455″ BRITISH ARMY OFFICER’S SERVICE REVOLVER. THIS WAS MANUFACTURED IN 1901. THIS MODEL IS KNOWN AS THE “BOER WAR MODEL” AND IT WAS THE STANDARD BRITISH ARMY SIDE ARM FOR THAT WAR.  THE DESIGN WAS WELL PERFECTED AND IT WAS NOT SIGNIFICANTLY IMPROVED UPON UNTIL JUST PRIOR TO WW1.   AS YOU MIGHT IMAGINE,  THIS WAS ONE OF THE MAIN BRITISH EMPIRE SERVICE REVOLVERS DURING WW1 AS WELL. THIS IS AN ALL MATCHING EXAMPLE, STILL CHAMBERED IN THE ORIGINAL .455 CALIBER.  NOTABLY, ON THE BACK GRIP STRAP IS A LIST OF UNITS THAT THIS PISTOL HAS SERVED WITH WHICH WILL CERTAINLY GIVE THE NEW OWNER AN OPPORTUNITY TO DO SOME RESEARCH. THIS IS AN EXCEPTIONAL EXAMPLE OF A BRITISH SERVICE REVOLVER AT ITS FINEST.
