Description

In mint crisp all matching condition we have an outstanding example of a rarely seen South Africa Property marked 1916 BSA made No.1 MkIII SMLE Lee Enfield Service Rifle.  This is still with the magazine cutoff installed.  This rifle was overhauled in 1937 and would have seen service in both World Wars.  The bore is excellent and the wood is very attractive and appealing.  One of the cleanest SMLE’s that we have seen in a very long time, this is a prime example of the rifle that saw the horrendous trench warfare in Europe and then probably served in North Africa with the 8th Army.  This is just an irresistible piece of the British Empire at its finest.
