In 97% mint crisp condition and indeed almost impossible to find this nice, we have a Colt Model of 1909 US Army Service Revolver in .45 Long Colt. This Revolver was shipped from Colts on June 8, 1911 directly to the Ordnance Depot in Manila, Philippines Islands. You may recal that they were sent there to be used on the Moro Rebels who were doped up on drugs and could not be stopped by the Army’s .38 Colt Service Revolvers. These big Colt’s were just the medicine needed to deal with these savage maniacs.
Most 1909 Revolvers that you will see are pretty well worn so this is an exceptional and rarely seen example that really pops. One of the harder to locate but historically important US Revolvers that continued in service as late at WWII.
