SOLD CHINESE SHANSEI ARSENAL .45acp BROOMHANDLE PISTOL…….THE LEGENDARY “BOX CANNON”…WITH STOCK
$3,450.00
Out of stock
In 96% condition, we have a model 1929 Shansei Arsenal .45 Broomhandle Pistol, with a non original Chinese made stock of much later manufacture.  This pistol is not nor was it ever import marked.  We were told that it came out of  Asia during the Korean or Vietnam War era.  The numbers match and the bore is excellent. I believe the inscription indicates a production date of 1932.  These guns have a well known mystique associated with them, they were called the Box Cannon by the Chinese and they were well thought of due to the ammunition commonality  with the Thompson Machine Gun.  These “Fu Manchu Specials” are certainly the iconic gun of Chinese Warlords and Bandits of the 1930’s and were widely used by the Chinese Nationalist forces during and after WW2.   Due to the unknown characteristics of the steel, we strongly advise this weapon to be inspected by a competent gunsmith before even contemplating shooting it.
