This was once a treasured family heir loom from near Martinsburg, WV that just came into the office. We have a US Martially accpeted 1862 production Colt model 1860 Army revolve. This pistol was carried through the war by Pvt Jacob H. Hart of the 3rd West Virginia Cavalry, who served from 1861 to well into 1864. He fought at many major engagements and carried this gun at Gettysburg. A tin type of him and some civil war history of his service comes with the pistol. The pistol stayed in his family until recently. The pistol is in excellent antique condition, it is all matching down to the wedge, and the cartouches are still visible on both grips. The bore is excellent and the lockup is tight. This comes with an original circa 1862 transitional holster and the original tin type of the owner. This pistol has a lot of history and its rare to find a named piece such as this come up for sale.
