We have a fantastic artifact of the early fighting in the Pacific at the outbreak of the fighting there in Java in 1942. In 97% condition, we have an October, 1940 shipped Dutch East Indies Army Contract Colt 1902 Pocket Hammerless Pistol in .32 auto, with the ultra-rare as issued Dutch East Indies Army Holster, that was captured by the Japanese Forces during the 1942 Invasion of Java and is property marked in Japanese on the back to a Lt. Tomita!!!! I have seen Dutch Lugers marked like this, but this is the first Colt I have seen with a Japanese Capture Attribution. The pistol is matching with an excellent bore and the holster is in great shape as well. Very likely this was surrendered at the end of the war and came back to the states as a war trophy.
I would have to consider this to be the most outstanding example of a Dutch East Indies Colt ever offered. Â
