IN 98% MINT CRISP ORIGINAL CONDITION, WE HAVE A TOP EXAMPLE OF  AN EARLY 1943 PRODUCTION ITHACA 1911A1 US ARMY SERVICE PISTOL.  THIS PISTOL IS 100% CORRECT AS IT LEFT THE FACTORY AS PER CLAWSON.  THIS PISTOL WAS ONE OF 5000 SHIPPED ON MARCH 27, 1944 TO THE NAVAL SUPPLY DEPOT, OAKLAND CALIFORNIA.   THIS IS A NICE PISTOL THAT HAS VERY LITTLE USE AT ALL AND WAS WELL CARED FOR.  THE DISTINCTIVE ITHACA INSPECTION MARK OF HAROLD MAWS CAN BE FOUND ON THE LEFT TRIGGER GUARD WEB. THIS PISTOL IS IN STUNNING CONDITION THE PARKERIZED FINISH STILL FROSTY AND YOU CAN STILL SEE THE BRIGHT BURNISHING EVEN IN SERIAL NUMBER!

THERE HAS BEEN MUCH INTEREST OF LATE IN THE ITHACA MADE 1911A1 PISTOLS.  COLLECTORS HAVE BECOME AWARE THAT THEY DID NOT MAKE NEARLY AS MANY AS REM RAND DID.  WHILE NOT NEARLY AS SCARCE AS A UNION SWITCH THEY ARE NOT PARTICULARLY COMMON.  THIS IS A TOP CONDITION 100% ORIGINAL WW2 VINTAGE ITHACA THAT WAS HEADED FOR THE FIGHTING IN THE PACIFIC THEATER OF OPERATIONS.  NAVY ISSUED ITHACA PISTOLS ARE HIGHLY SOUGHT OUT BY COLLECTORS, ESPECIALLY ONE THIS CRISP. Â
