SOLD SCARCE WALTHER P88 PISTOL UNFIRED NEW IN THE BOX WITH ALL THE GIBLETS!

Here in new in the box unfired condition, we have a circa 1988 Walther P88 9mm Pistol.   This comes with the spare mag still in the wrapper the cleaning rod manual and factory test target.

This pistol dated from the 1980’s when the big shift to the so called “wonder nines” was in full swing.  This was the era when the good guys and the bad guys traded in their .38 & .357 revolvers for 9mm semi-auto pistols with high capacity magazines.  This was the age of Glock and Beretta and Sig Sauer and everyone saw the writing on the wall that the revolver was largely obsolete for people shooting.  Walther entered the high capacity 9mm market  in 1987 with the P88.  This pistol was extremely accurate but it was over engineered, overly complicated to operate and extremely expensive for what it was.  Because of these issues it was not commercially successful and it was discontinued by the turn of the century with not many made.   The P88 did have some snob appeal, but even that was eclipsed by H&K with their still legendary squeeze cocker.  The P88 is an extremely well made and famously accurate pistol, its a must have pistol for any post war Walther collector.
