In 95% condition, we have a WWI era Sauer Model 1913 Pistol That is rigged out with a scarce WWI holster that is GI war trophy adorned with an SS Death’s Head collar pin. This was a common way of decorating holsters, and we see many that were “enhanced” in this fashion. This example actually looks pretty neat.
Thel 1913 Sauer Pistol was hands down the finest quality pocket pistol that the Germans used in WWI. It was extremely compact and very finely made and most importantly it was extremely reliable. These pistols were mostly issued to officers not involved directly in combat. Certainly, an elegant pistol by any standards. It is certainly interesting to see that this pistol was still widely used in military service as late as WWII.
