In antique fine condition, we have a very rare and seldom seen Nagant Brothers made Model 1884 Revolver for the Gendarmerie of the Dutchy of Luxembourg. The caliber is 9.4 Belgian revolver, which is in the ballpark of the old 41 Colt cartridge. This is all matching with the low serial number of 82 and the bore is excellent. This is a pre 1898 made antique and no licensing is required to purchase it.
This is a good example of the large bore service revolvers of the late 19th century. Toward the 1890’s smokeless powder was developed and these revolvers were replaced with smaller models nominally chambered for the .32 caliber such as the Lebel and the Later Nagant models. Although this is an obscure revolver they are well known to collectors and are especially popular among Nagant and European collectors.
