In 98%++ new in the Factory Original box condition, we have an August, 1944 production Remington Rand made 1911a1 US Army Service Pistol. This is a 100% factory original pistol, still in the Rem Rand box with 2 wrapped magazines. While we do occasionally see 1945 made Rem Rands in the box getting an example like this that was made earlier in the war is quite the find. This is exactly as if it was just issued and handed to you by an armory clerk during WWII.
Finding an unissued WWII pistol such as this is a real find. It is likely that this pistol was sold through the NRA by the DCM around 1960-62 when the Government disposed of some of these pistols. At the time if you ordered one there was no telling what you would receive it could be a rebuilt gun or like this one, new and un-issued. This is a real find for the serious collector!
