In a 97% mint crisp beautiful condition, we have a prime example of an very early production Tokyo Army Arsenal made Nambu Type 14 pistol. This is an early production gun that is dated 3.7 which translates to July 1928, which was the third month of production. This is commonly referred to by collectors as the “Small Trigger Guard Nambu Pistol“. The pistol is totally matching except for the magazine which is actually number 96 from the first hundred made! I can tell you from experience, that finding an early production Nambu still with a matching mag is very difficult and problematic; they rarely ever match. The bore is mint. This is absolutely one of the finest examples of an early production Type 14 that we have seen and the look of this gun is quite visually stunning. If you are looking for one really outstanding example of the highest expression of Japanese pistol design you should take note of this example.
Scotty’s Collector Insight….This is a very desirable very early production Type 14 it’s very early in the production run and that alone makes this an incredibly desirable artifact for any Japanese Pistol Collector.
