In 97% mint sharp condition, all matching except for the magazine, we have a very well documented factory error Walther ac40 coded P.38 pistol where the “40” date was in error, not stamped on the slide. This pistol was discussed at length by the folks on the P.38 forum and the late P.38 guru Orv Reichert blessed the pistol as genuine. Here is some information from the consignor:
In 2020 there was quite a lot of discussion about it on the P38 Collector Forum. Apparently, Orv Reichert identified it as a known example of this variation where the 40 was never added. The grips are matching but the mag on the gun is ac40not matching.
