In 97% mint sharp original condition, we have a fairly scarce early production British Royal Navy Issued 1913 Webley & Scott Self Loading .455 Mark I Service Pistol. This pistol comes with some very hard to find ammunition, an original British issued WWI packet of 7 rounds and an even harder to find Royal Navy Pattern Holster. The pistol is all matching and the bore is excellent. These pistols although awkward looking by today’s standards were extremely reliable and they were very well made and had extremely tight tolerances, which also lent itself to great accuracy.
This pistol was purchased by the very forward-thinking Royal Navy in 1913, ostensibly for use by pilots of the Royal Navy Seaplanes that played an important role in the First World War. They were and still are one of the most interesting and the most collectable and historic of the Webley Automatic pistols.
