In excellent war carried non-re-worked condition we have a top example of the US Army WW2 Sniper Rifle, the M1903A4 Springfield Rifle as made by Remington. This one has a 12-1943 dated barrel and the bore is mint. The rifle is in factory original condition and has not been rebuilt re-inpsected or overhauled post war. It was said to have been brought back. Not having a second P proof added would indicate that no rebuild was performed. The rifle is still in the Remington Factory original condition with mixed blue and parked parts, it retains its original WW2 configuration. The scope is an early M73B1, with crystal clear optics. Everything on this specimen is textbook correct. While not the most glamorous sniper rifle of WW2, these rifles were very dependable and accurate, and in fact they continued to serve in combat right into Vietnam. This proves the soundness of the rifle and the scope. You would be hard pressed to find a finer and more original example for your collection.
