Description

In excellent condition, 100% original and correct, we have an extremely early December, 1940  production immediate post Gas Trap Springfield Armory M1 Garand Service Rifle.  This impossible to find variant was only produced for 4 months, from August to December, 1940.  This is a stunningly nice example with throat and muzzle erosion both gauging out at a near un-used 2.  You will notice in the pictures the very early drawing numbers on the parts, and also the very early parts that are not found on the later 1941 production rifles such as the very unusual recoils spring and op rod.  This is prior to any Lend-Lease sales and it is not any kind of an import.

It cannot be understated how rare and impossible to locate in this original condition that this rifle is.  Only a handful would have survived WW2 intact and not rebuilt.  This is by far the earliest and rarest Garand that we have ever had to fortune to stumble upon.
