sold IMPORTANT WW2 FAIRBAIRN SYKES COMMANDO KNIFE…WILKINSON MADE…. NAMED TO CHIEF OF STAFF US 8TH AIRFORCE

Here is an important piece of WW2 8th Airforce history, we have a Wilkinson Sword made Presentation Fairbairn Sykes fighting knife.  This knife is engraved with the name of John A Samford, who during WW2 rose to the rank of Brigadier General (later Lt. Gen)  and was the chief of staff for the Legendary 8th Air Force.  After the war, he became director of the National Security Agency.  This is a very rare incredible piece of 8th Air Force memorabilia and a very collectible and important early Wilkinson Sword made F-S Knife.  This is the kind of item that can only be obtained by the Pre98 that comes out of the woodwork in the Washington, DC area.
