Description

In excellent minus condition we have a hard to find early Nazi production all matching 1939 dated Mauser Oberndorf manufactured (42 code) K98k German WW2 Service rifle from the first year of the war.  The bore is excellent.  This is the standard early war configuration with the solid Walnut stock, the milled bands and the flat butt plate. Most 1939 production run had a laminated stock, however some were made with the more desirable walnut stock.  The stock cartouches are very sharp and easy to read, one of the best features of this fine example.  This is pretty much the poster child for a 1939 WW2 98k production rifle as manufactured by the primary contractor, Mauser.  If you want just one really nice 98k rifle then this will fit the bill well, these early guns are very tough to find all matching and this is a  nice looking rifle that certainly saw combat during the war.  It has that very attractive carried look that can really speak to you.
