MAUSER byf 43 P.38 EARLY PRODUCTION DUSTY BLUE FINISH MINT CRISP CONDITION

In 98% solid mint crisp condition, we have a top example of an early Mauser production byf 43 coded P.38 Pistol.  This P.38 has an excellent bore and is 100% factory original and all matching.  These earliest Mauser produced pistols have a distinct finish that is referred to by collectors as “dusty Blue” This is a very dull blue gray finish over a grainy metal surface.  This was an experimental finish that was discontinued very early in 1943, it is present on all of the byf 42 pistols and the first few letter blocks into the byf 43 coded pistols. After that the normal blue that you see on the Walther pistols was employed.  This is a top example of this very desirable P.38 variant, they are hard to find this nice and are avidly sought out by collectors.
