MON APR 6, VERY SCARCE, EARLY 1943 U.S. WWII O.S.S. ISSUED COLT DETECTIVE SPECIAL, WITH COLT LETTER, FLAMING BOMB PROOFED, VERY SHARP!

In 96% very sharp condition, we have an extremely rare and seldom seen US WWII issued Colt Detective Special that was shipped to the O.S.S. (Office of Strategic Services) early in the war on Match 4, 1943. Before there was a Fowler Building where OSS pistols were shipped in 1944, the earliest OSS pistols were shipped to Fort Myer, which is right next to where the Fowler building would be located in Rosslyn, VA.    While numbers of these pistols were shipped to US Army G-2 Military Intelligence, O.S.S. documented Detective Specials are impossible to locate.  This is an extremely desirable pistol from the early days of the OSS and will be a must have item for many.
