Description

In antique excellent condition, we have very hard to find all matching, not Turkish, straight up 1896 Amberg Arsenal made German Gew88/14 Commission Rifle.  The rifle is totally matching and is “S” marked to indicate its has been modified to except the .323 cartridge and modified to accept the standard Mauser Gew 98 stripper clips.  The rifle is fully kitted out for service in WWI with the added bottom magazine cover as seen on these upgraded rifles.  Thuis rifle is unit marked to the 19th Bavarian Infantry regiment which served the entire war on the Western Front, mostly in the Somme Sector.

These rifles were used extensively on the front lines during WW1 especially on the eastern front.  Finding an all matching example is very problematic as many were shipped to Turkey few are ever found this way after a hundred plus years.  The Commission rifle played a large and historic role in the German Military in the early part of the last century and this is a very fine example.  This is a pre 1898 antique and can be shipped directly to your home. Â
