Here is something you do not see every day, we have a 100% Factory New Condition, US WWII very late June 1945 production, Remington Rand 1911a1 US Army Service Pistol. This Pistol came right out of the Dry Pack 1964 export shipping package that is pictured. This would have been taken out of the Factory shipping box, degreased and dry packed for use as Military Foreign Aid. It was probably never shipped overseas and was probably a DCM sales gun. Let me be very clear about this: this Pistol is a straight up original WWII gun; it has not been reworked or rebuilt in any way, just placed in a 1964 dry storage package for preservation.
These very late production Remington Rands are well known for the very distinct light gray color of the Parkerizing which gives them an immediately recognizable look that is highly desirable to collectors. One could call it the US version of the “Gray Ghost“.
