IN 98%+ MINT CRISP ORIGINAL CONDITION, WE HAVE A TOP EXAMPLE OF A JULY 1945 LATE WARTIME PRODUCTION ITHACA 1911A1 PISTOL. THIS PISTOL IS 100% CORRECT AS IT LEFT THE FACTORY AS PER CLAWSON. THIS PISTOL WAS ONE OF 3000 SHIPPED TO THE BELLE MEADE DEPOT IN NEW JERSEY ON JULY 31, 1945. THIS IS A NICE PISTOL THAT HAS SEEN SOME VERY SLIGHT USE BUT WAS WELL CARED FOR.
IT BEARS THE DISTINCTIVE ITHACA INSPECTION MARK OF WILLIAM BEAN ON THE FRONT LEFT TRIGGER GUARD WEB AND IS 100% FACTORY ORIGINAL. THERE HAS BEEN MUCH INTEREST OF LATE IN THE ITHACA MADE 1911A1 PISTOLS. COLLECTORS HAVE BECOME AWARE THAT THEY DID NOT MAKE NEARLY AS MANY AS REM RAND DID. WHILE NOT NEARLY AS SCARCE AS A UNION SWITCH THEY ARE NOT PARTICULARLY COMMON. THIS IS A TOP CONDITION 100% ORIGINAL WW2 VINTAGE ITHACA THAT WAS HEADED FOR THE FIGHTING AGAINST THE JAPANESE.
