In mint unissued condition, also to include the bayonet, we have a top example of the somewhat obscure Danish Madsen M-47 Bolt Action Rifle in 30-06 Caliber. This rifle was obsolete and un-sellable before the first one rolled off of the assembly line. No country was remotely interested. In the later 1950’s Madsen managed to sell these in-wanted rifles to Columbia. Who knows why they bought them perhaps it was for police use. As soon as they received the shipment they went straight into storage, un-used and un-wanted.
Sometime in the late 1950’s or very early 1960’s these Columbian marked rifles all ended up on the American Surplus Rifle Market. While folks that have actually shot them had good things to say about them, they just were not historical WWII rifles, so they were not a popular item. If you happen to have an interest in these Danish made rifles, here you go.
