Description

In excellent minus condition, we have a very rare and seldom seen 1926 production Savage Model 99 Featherweight Takedown Carbine in the very desirable 250-3000 caliber.  This is an extremely scarce variant due to the pencil thin 22 inch carbine barrel, the caliber, and the featherweight stock. Almost all of the case hardening remains on the lever and the bore is mint.   It also has a $250 Lyman Peep sight on the tang.  In the deer hunting camps and hunting cabins of the 1920’s and 30’s this rifle would have been the envy of all.  The 250-3000 cartridge was known as a rifleman’s deer cartridge a cut above what most folks would have carried.  This is a very nostalgic rifle from the golden age of deer hunting.
