In excellent all matching condition, we have a top example of a late production dot 1942 coded G.33/40 Mountain Carbine. This rifle is all matching and was a vet bring back. This is a completely matching textbook example form the early “c” block. G.33/40 carbines in original condition are scarce and one this nice is a real treasure. Most of these carbines that were brought back after the war were turned into various grades of hunting rifles due to the light weight of the action. For this reason we rarely see them intact. The G.33/40 Carbines were used almost exclusively by the German Mountain troops and to a lesser extent by the paratroopers. Because of the small size and distinctive very attractive looks they are absolutely one of the most sought after of the German WW2 long arms.
Here is some good buying guidance on these carbines…..we seldom ever get a nice G.33/40 in the office, only 2-3 a year but for some fortuitous reason we currently have three in stock which is the first time this has happened. We will buy every one that we see because likely sooner than later it will be many months before we are able to obtain another one. We have a great selection and this one is priced very attractively. I will offer you the same advice as we operate on with these highly sought after carbines……You buy them when you see them!!!
