This is a 83 year old mint new out of the crate genuine 1937 Mauser Oberndorf 7×57 caliber Model 1935 Brazilian Rifle; it is totally matching, with the Mauser Factory Test Target, The matching numbered bayonet, all mint new perfect! This is an extremely rare Mauser Oberndorf contract rifle, one of only 7,000 that were made between 1935-37 making it one of the rarest and most desirable of the South American Contract rifles and one of the Rarer of the Mauser made export contract rifles. The rifle is exactly as it was pulled out of the zinc shipping crate still with the extremely rare March,1937 dated test target. These rifles were surplussed and sold by Brazil in the 1970’s to Canada and Germany. A few crates of the rifles were still factory sealed and unopened and made there way out of the country. When the zinc crates were unsealed and opened the rifles were found to be in perfect condition just as you see this rifle. There are less than a hundred rifles in the world known to be in this complete state of preservation and as far as I am aware they are the only Mauser made rifles that may still have the test target. As you may imagine these rifles are extremely desirable to so many different types of collectors both for the sheer beauty and new condition, but also for the completeness of the weapon system and the charm of getting a new condition Genuine Mauser Rifle exactly as if you pulled it out of the crate but with no greasy mess to clean up! Very few of these rifles ever made it into the US so this is a real find! Not Import Marked!
