In 98% mint condition, we have a great example of the very rare waffenatmed variant of the Walther HP pistol. The pistol is all matching with an excellent bore. The Heeres Pistole was a commercial version of the P.38. This pistol was probably manufactured in 1943, it has the high polish finish, but the polishing is not as well executed as on earlier production examples. As is often seen with the HP’s there is the enigmatic “35” stamped on the left side of the frame. This marking is widely reported on HP pistols but the meaning is not known. As you can see from the white in the markings this gun has been in the same collection from probably the late 1980’s. This whiting in of the markings was widely done by collectors during the late 1980’s into the early 90’s and you can almost date a collection by this alone. This is a great example of a seldom seen and very desirable P.38 variant.
