Description

IN 96% NICE CONDITION,  WE HAVE A VERY RARE COLT WOODSMAN MATCH TARGET PISTOL.  THIS WAS SHIPPED TO THE US NAVY IN NORFOLK, VA  ON SEPTEMBER 14, 1943.  THESE PISTOLS ARE SCARCE AND RARELY SEEN, ESPECIALLY THIS NICE AS THEY WERE HEAVILY USED DURING THE WAR AND AFTER IN TRAINING.   THESE PISTOLS WERE HEAVILY EMPLOYED FOR TRAINING OF NAVAL PERSONNEL IN THE USE OF A HANDGUN.  AS YOU MIGHT IMAGINE,  NAVAL AVIATION PERSONNEL NEEDED TO BE PROFICIENT IN THE USE OF A SIDEARM.   COLT MATCH TARGET WOODSMAN PISTOLS ARE RARE IN THEIR OWN RIGHT,  AND  US WW2 MILITARY MARKED EXAMPLES ARE QUITE UNCOMMON. THIS IS A HIGHLY COLLECTIBLE PIECE FOR BOTH COLT AND MARTIAL ARMS COLLECTORS. THESE ARE SELDOM SEEN AND HARDLY EVER FOUND THIS NICE AND CRISP. THIS IS A MUST HAVE PISTOL FOR US NAVAL PISTOL COLLECTORS.
