Description

THIS IS AN EXCEPTIONALLY RARE PISTOL IN ALMOST UNHEARD OF CONDITION. WE HAVE A HISTORICALLY SIGNIFICANT COLT MODEL 1907 .45 AUTOMATIC PISTOL, SERIAL NUMBER 157 THAT IS ONE OF 200 PISTOLS THAT WERE USED IN THE TRIALS OF 1909 THAT ULTIMATELY RESULTED IN THE COLT 1911 PISTOL. IN THE SUMMER OF 1909 THIS PISTOL WAS RETURNED TO THE COLT FACTORY FOR THE 1909 MODIFICATIONS AND WAS SENT TO TROOP H, 4TH CAVALRY IN FT SNELLING MINNESOTA FOR TESTING. THIS IS PROBABLY THE BEST PRESERVED EXAMPLE OF THESE PISTOLS. 1907 PISTOLS ARE WELL DOCUMENTED IN BOTH CLAWSON’S AND MEADOWS BOOKS. THIS IS A MUST HAVE PIECE FOR THE SERIOUS COLLECTORS OF US MARTIAL PISTOLS AND THE INVESTMENT POTENTIAL CANNOT BE UNDERESTIMATED. THIS PISTOL WAS A CRTITICAL TESTBED FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF WHAT BECAME AND STILL IS OVER A HUNDRED YEARS LATER THE MOST RELEVENT HANDGUN EVER DESIGNED.
